05.26.08 - Change of Plans

Despite the fact that the entire 05.26.08 show was booked and planned in advanced, new UWA GM Swaff decided to change the entire show minutes before the opening match. MDC had been considered too volatile to be forced to tag team so it was decided that Prototype would take on both members of MDC throughout the night. HPV and Mimic's match has also been pushed back as neither man could be found, though the last time either one of them was seen they were brawling in a parking lot.

The opening match saw Prototype taking on his former teammate and rival Calypso in a back and forth match that saw a very intense Calypso hoping to get revenge on Prototype from their triple threat TLC match that earned Prototytpe his title shot later in the evening. Prototype displayed impressive strength throughout the match and took a tremendous beating. The finish came when Calypso attempted to hit Prototype with a chain but PT ducked and then used it on Calypso. Calypso managed to get the upper hand but hurt himself after a back body drop to Prototype and walked right into the Happy Ending V2.

Prototype's partner and UWA Tag Team Champion Josh Bobb came out and issued an open challenge in the second match of the evening which prompted former UWA Heavyweight Champion Sean Drego to make his return after a near six-month sabbatical from wrestling. Picking up from where they left off, Drego and Bobb duked it out and gave one another everything they had until Sean Drego locked Josh Bobb in a vicious bear-hug like maneuver, knocking out the former Undisputed Champion.

Our Main Event of the evening saw UWA Undisputed Champion David Chaos defending his championship against Prototype. The match started off with Prototype proving his quickness and speed against Chaos by out-thinking and out-maneuvering him inciting anger in the big man. Eventually, however, Prototype got caught and Chaos took control though Prototype always found a way to fight back. Prototype always had a trick up his sleeve but it was apparent that his match with Calypso earlier in the night was taking its toll, not to mention the TLC match a week prior and the match itself with Chaos. Chaos, however, was the fresher of the two and eventually endurance proved to be Prototype's second opponent. Prototype avoided the Chaos Choke but got caught with the Chaos Theory quickly following. Shockingly, however, Prototype kicked out and even rolled up the champion but only got a two count! Fed up with the challenger, Chaos locked in the Chaos Choke and after fighting for an unbelievable amount of time, Prototype eventually tapped out, giving Chaos his third successful title defense.
